Not every snake will have them, but they’re very noticeable in more primitive species (like pythons and boas). These snakes have the remnants of a pelvic girdle and femurs. The bones aren’t attached to anything and kinda just float there in the muscles, but they’re still very much there!
You can even see these vestigial “legs” on snakes like pythons and boas! We call the visible portion spurs, and you can see them on either side of the snake’s cloaca. The’re often longer in male snakes - they probably stuck around because they’re useful for holding on during breeding.
I had to switch my dice collection to segmented containers so I’d be less stressed sifting through the pile to find complete sets, but I’ve also discovered I have 65 sets of dice and I still don’t have enough containers 🧍♂️
